Britton and Jon's Wedding at the Lace House.

Britton and Jon are two amazing people. They spend their lives in service to the public in law enforcement. They were both just wonderful people and I had so much fun shooting their engagement session, bridal portrait session and wedding.

Britton and Jon were married at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Columbia and the reception was at the Lace House. Special thanks goes out to  Chelsey Winford for amazing makeup, Southern Way Catering for providing all the great food, Micheal Joye at PartyTime Djs for keeping the party going and Parkland Cakes for a stunning wedding cake and to everyone at the Lace House for having such a beautifull place for a wedding. Tyler & Julius's wedding at the Springvalley Country Club

Tyler and Julius got married Sept 24th and boy did we have fun.  They got married at St. Martins in the field and had their reception at the Springvalley Country Club. Tyler was a beautiful bride and Julius was a great guy! There were all kinds of fun things about this wedding. From the dog being dressed up to the classic rolls-royce convertable, this wedding had a lot of special touches. The entertainment was provided by Second Nature and the cake was done by the amazing people at Parkland Cakes. Here are a few of my favorite shots from the wedding. Philip & Becki's Lake Murray Wedding

Here are some teaser wedding photos from Becki and Philip's wedding. They got married at a beautiful home on Lake Murray, SC. It was blazing hot, the temperture was around 100 degrees with about 90% humidity, but that didn't stop us from having a great time. Dispite the heat I really enjoyed this photographing this wedding. It was a small wedding, which meant I really got to know a lot of the people there. The beautiful location, combined with the great couple and a gorgious sunset gave us the chance for some really spectacular wedding photography.

Cameron at Big Time Entertainment provided all the tunes and Dave Matney at Matney Media was shooting video.

There are a lot of reason to try and spend less on your wedding. The economy is the biggest reason, but even if it was better many couple just don't want to start life together with a huge debt. If you're paying for your wedding yourself, you know how important it is to get the most for your money. So here are the my top five ways to save money.

#1. Stick to your schedule.

This may be the most important advice I give to brides. Most of your wedding vendors charge by the hour. So sticking to your schedule will help make sure you don't run into any unexpected overages. If you can plan right you may even be able to trim an hour or two off the whole day and save even more! - Not to sound like an ad for myself, but one thing that make Brodiefoto different than many wedding photographers is that we don't have an hourly fee. Your booking includes all day photography. So you never have to worry about running out of time or having overages.

#2. Hire a wedding planner.

Wait, you want me to save money by getting someone else? Yep! A great wedding planner can help you work out deals, find things on the cheep or may even offer some things as a part of their serves. It's not uncommon to save more on your wedding than you pay a wedding planner.

#3. Cut the guest list
Having less people at your wedding will bring down the cost of catering, invitations and even things like center pieces.

#4 Choose your date carefully

Choosing an off peak wedding date can save you thousands of dollars. Most wedding vendors offer deals, discounts or special pricing for weddings that don't take place during peak wedding season. (FYI) Peak wedding season can vary depending on where you are. So check around and see what works. Here in the South, November through March is usually considered the off season.

#5. Buy Flowers that are in season

Any florist will tell you that in season flowers are easier and cheaper to get than something that has to be special ordered. This will save you hundreds of dollars!

Megan & Ladd's Wedding Teaser

Megan and Ladd got married last weekend in Florence, SC. They had a great wedding and I was really excited to finally get to shoot the wedding because it meant I could FINALLY share Megan's stunning bridal portraits.

Before I get too far into the wedding details, here are Megan's Bridal portraits at the beach.

OK, now that you've seen those, let me really tell you about their wedding!

If you've followed my photography at all over the last few years, you'll know that one of the things I always do at weddings is to capture those amazing details that often go overlooked by other photographers, but I also love creating beautiful images of the couples flowers and wedding rings.

Megan is a beautiful bridal. I'm pretty sure she only had two expressions during the wedding. Crying with happiness and just extra happy.

Ladd is also a really great guy. He was down for just about everything and just wanted to have some crazy and fun photos.

Meet the beautiful brides maids!

Ok, truth be told Ladd might have been a little nervous. About 40 minutes before the wedding all the guys left the church to get one last drop of courage! :) I of course went to make sure they remembered to come back...

The wedding reception was held at Osbornes in Florence. It's a beautiful venue and I was really glad to get to know everyone there. The DJ was Scott G out of Florence. He was a great guy and kept the party hopping until the very end! I'm really hoping to get more weddings in Florence so get to see them all again.
