My latest work, including weddings, portraits, and event photography.

Hey there! My name is Matt Brodie and I am a wedding photographer in Columbia, SC. My wedding photography is all about strong portraits, real moments and amazing details. Give me a call today and we can talk about why I should be your wedding photographer.

In the mean time this blog is for both my personal and professional photography, and features images from recent weddings, travel and other photography that I'm up to. It's basically like my own personal photo album combined with an information source for my current and potential clients. My blog is less formal and much more fun than some of my other online works. I just want to give everyone a sense of who I am. Thanks for visiting.

First Year Life Stages Portraits

The beginning of the year is usually a little slower in terms of weddings, but I tend to stay pretty busy doing Child, Baby, and Infant portraits. This year I've started a new experience for my clients. I call it my life stages package. It's a five session portrait package that covers the first year. It includes a newborn, 3 month, 6 month, 9 month and 1 year portraits and a beautiful album at the end to celebrate year one! These two portraits where both taken this week and both families are in the life stages package. The first child just finished his 3 month session and the second is just getting started with the newborn. Both kids were awesome and super cute! I'm very excited to get to be able to follow them through there first year and put together an album that their parents (and grandparents) will LOVE!

Valentine's Picture

Well it's almost Valentine's Day and what better way to share the love than with some super cute baby portraits! Here is a recent image from a photo session with Will. He was so excited! It was his first photo session being able to stand up (with help). I went with the selective coloring (the red on black and white) to really bring home the love them. Hope you like it!

More Babies!

Well I didn't have a wedding to shoot this weekend, so instead I scheduled two infant portrait sessions. They were almost back to back which was a little exhausting, but I got through it. Even though it was tiring, it was still fun. Ever baby is different and parents always want something a little different than the last. Both were practically newborns. One was just a week and a half and the other was 4 weeks. Here are a few of my favorites from the day.

This is Holden, he was the 4 week old. He did pretty well, once he got used to the crazy guy with the camera.
This is Jackson. Jackson was one of those babies that just likes to sleep, or at least he liked to sleep in front of the camera. He was pretty easy.

If you'd like to schedule an infant portrait session use the contact page to send me a email, or call 803-386-1513.

Infant Portrait Session

Saturday I had the pleasure of visiting an old friend of mine from high school and taking some infant pictures of her new baby. I had a great time getting to see her and getting to know her family. Her kids are great. It was a real honor to be asked to come to Charleston and take their portraits. Here are a few of my favorites from their Infant portrait photography session.

Infant Portraits

I just finished up an infant portrait session. While I love shooting weddings, I also shoot a lot of portraits. Infant portraits are always fun, because you never get the same shots twice. Every child is new and different and amazing. These were shot with my portrable studio set up in the house. So the baby was very comfortable with the surroundings. I decided in advance that this would be a black and white shoot. I just think that this style of infant portrait lends itself to black and white more. The pictures came out great. Here are a few of the best ones. I hope you enjoy. I'm also trying out my new Brodiefoto watermark. If you are interest in getting your own childs portraits done, let me know. I promise you'll Love the final images! Remember to leave a comment and let me know what you think!
