Beautiful images with a Great Experience

At Brodiefoto I am concerned as much with your experience as I am with your images. I want you to have a great experience with great trust and a relationship with me. I want your friends to be jealous of your images and I want you to cry when you see them for the first time. It’s because I care so much about your whole wedding day experience that I’m offering these tips and bits of insight.
We all know every bride and every wedding is different. Not everyone has a designer wedding. Not everyone has a wedding that cost $200,000 dollars. Compare that to a wedding where the total budget is just $4000 dollars and photographer is typically 50% of the budget. That’s a huge honor and responsibility.
As a photographer I’m humbled by how much importance I have during your wedding. But no matter what the budget or magnitude of a wedding my sole job is to bless the couple with not just beautiful images, but also to be a reverent leader. Most brides don’t think about it, or even realize it, but they typically rely on their photographer for much more than photography. Often times we help, plan, direct, and manage the wedding. It’s very common to get asked when, where, or how things should be done.
With that reverent leadership in mind here are some general planning tips for your wedding to make the day a little less stressful.
Ask yourself these:
Do you want your wedding to be like those other weddings or do you want it to be different, but still cool and what you want?
Do you want relaxed portraits, or do you want semi stressed fast portraits?
Most of the time the answer is you want them to be awesome, beautiful and unique, not the same as everyone else’s pictures. With that in mind you may need to do things a little differently. Maybe add some extra travel time into your day to go to a few great locations.
Quick Tips.
Schedule a casual portrait session with your photographer. It’s a great way to develops trust. If you trust the photographer and they make you more comfortable you have more freedom. You’ll be more open to doing the things that help create amazing images.
The photography from your wedding is the one thing that you will have to remember your day after all the excitement has worn down. It’s how you will remember your wedding for the rest of your life. The LAST thing you want is to rush the photography. Most brides get into trouble with this.
70% of hair stylist and makeup don’t finish on time. It’s just how it is. Tell them to finish 1/2 hour to an hour earlier than you really need them to. It will avoid you running late and even if they do finish on time, it only leaves more time for great portraits.
There is a rule that applies to just about everything, and wedding photography is no exception. You can have it Fast, Cheap, or Good. Pick Two.
